Idiot Proof Espeon

Idiot: Tho we arn’t too fond of the name, this Espeon build quickly caught our attention. Special Sweepers come and go but Espeon has been stirring things up for a good while in previous generations (especially since the release of it’s Magic-Bounce ability). This build has the potential to really bring it back for the new generation’s meta.EspeonLink: http://www.hohoushome.com/build.php?v=648

Basic Build: Espeon is a strong Special Sweeper. Using Leftovers should help Espeon to recover it’s HP as the battle goes on. Hidden Power Flying will help Espeon deal with bug types that might try something (mainly Scizor, Heracross, and Pinsir are the biggest contestants). Dazzling Gleam is a popular fairy-type move that helps deal with primarily with popular Dark and Dragon -types. Espeon’s Magic-Bounce trait factors in quite nicely to reflect any status attempts used on it. Stored Power is an amazing STAB move (Same type attack bonus) that combos perfectly with Calm Mind to increase the amount of damage it does. Calm Mind increases both it’s Special Attack and Special Defense. After about (20 base x 2 stats x 6 possible increases) Espeon’s Stored Power becomes a whopping base 240 attack… and thats without calculating the STAB boost!

Espeon (F) @ Leftovers

EVs: 16 HP / 252 SAtk / 240 Spd /
Modest Nature (+SAtk , -Atk)

The hardest part about breeding this Pokemon into your game is getting the exact IVs needed for it’s hidden power to be Fighting.Espeon belongs to the Field egg group. Check the link for full instructions.

Summary: This build redefines the word ‘idiot proof’ (which we think would have been a better name). Thank you Bao2933 for submitting this amazing build.

Gjenganger – Mega Gengar Moveset

Gjenganger: A good Special Sweeper is hard to find however, Gengar has always been a nasty team member since it’s appearance back in Red/Blue (or Red/Green depending where you’re from)! It’s new mega form in gen6 is proving to be quite versatile with abunch of hazards for the newly popular competitive Pokemon in OU. GengarLink: http://www.hohoushome.com/build.php?v=530

Basic Build: Gengar is a strong Special Sweeper. Gengarite increases it’s Special attack and Speed makes Gengar an even more powerful threat. it’s ability becomes shadow tag which prevents frightened foes from being unable to escape quite nicely. Thunderbolt gives nice coverage against bulky water types tho personally if it was me, I think I would prefer Protect better to keep it safe during it’s megavolution and as an added bonus poison fodder when your opponent gets poisoned from Sludge Bomb!

Gengar (F) @ Gengarite
Trait: Levitate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd /
Timid Nature (+Spd , -Atk)
– Shadow Ball

Summary: This build shows off what a Gengar can really do. Thanks PsychoHail for submitting this sexy build.

Physical Tank Scizor

Acrizor: Using a Scizor as a Physical Tank might seem alittle weird, but Scizor really stirs things up!ScizorLink: http://www.hohoushome.com/build.php?v=515

Basic Build: Scizor is a badass Physical Tank. White Herb makes it so resets lowered stats to normal at end of turn, but only once. Scizor’s Technician ability factors in quite nicely.

Scizor (F) @ White Herb
Trait: Technician
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Def / 4 SDef /
Adamant Nature (+Atk , -SAtk)
– Acrobatics
– Superpower

Breeding this Scizor shouldn’t be too bad. Scizor belongs to the Bug egg group. Check the link for full instructions.

Summary: This build was designed quite nicely.  It’s a nice change for the common Choice Band + Technician + Priority Set that everyone’s come to expect lately. Thanks PokeReaper for submitting this hardcore build.

Boltbeamer Starmie

Boltbeamer: In all of the OU-tier, Starmie is a force to be reckoned with! Quite a popular choice in Gen5 and above, and granted Fairys seem to have taken the spotlight against Dragons at the moment but Boltbeamers are still an important class to help deal with them and other common threats!StarmieLink: http://www.hohoushome.com/build.php?v=266

Basic Build: Starmie is a extremely awesome Special Sweeper. Using Life Orb will help Starmie to do 30% more damage but it will take 10% of it’s max HP as damage each time it attacks (which for Starmie should be about 24-27 damage at level 100 in this build). Starmie’s Natural Cure ability factors in quite nicely.

Starmie @ Life Orb
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 45 HP / 240 SAtk / 225 Spd /
Modest Nature (+SAtk , -Atk)
– Thunderbolt
– Ice Beam
– Psychic
